Join artist and photographer Nicky Thompson to create beautiful cyanotype photographs of plants and seeds.
Suitable for ages 7+
Using plants and seeds from the garden, you will create some beautiful, ethereal blue images to take home with you.
Cyanotype is an early form of photography pioneered by Anna Atkins who published one of the very first books of photography in 1843, Photographs of British Algae: Cyanotype Impressions. She was a botanist and found that cyanotype was a brilliant way to capture the fine detail of plants. The artworks you create have loads of possibilites, Nicky will offer guidance, including how to make your own book cover.
