We enjoyed the last day of our exhibition 'Léonie Hampton: A Language of Seeds' with a seed swap and informal talk.

In celebration of Seed Week 2023, we marked the new growing season by swapping seeds, sharing this natural currency with our community. We also reflected on key Climate Conversations themes including Nature, Food, Energy and Reduce/Recycle/Reuse.

Guest speakers:

• Léonie Hampton exhibiting artist from the artist collective Still Moving, also an artist-in-residence at King’s College London. Working in collaboration with Dr Jane Catford, Reader in Ecology, Léonie is developing a project exploring perceptions of human and plant “nativeness” to perceive ourselves in relation to biodiversity and climate crises - read more.

•  Lulu Urquhart, award-winning garden designer of Urquhart & Hunt, gold medal winner at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2022 and Best in Show for ‘A Rewilding Britain Landscape’, which showcased a native landscape in the process of rewilding, flourishing bio-diversity and including a beaver’s dynamic habitat.
• Marc Cadotte, professor of biological sciences at the University of Toronto-Scarborough. Marc researches the links between biodiversity and ecosystem function, how to predict and control invasive species, and how environmental change influences the delivery of ecosystem services.
