THG will be celebrating the launch of their new community pocket park with a spectacular garden party this May.
This family-friendly event is part of the national Museums at Night festival, which runs from 11 - 18 May. The fun-packed evening will include art activities as well as food and music and coordinates with the gallery’s community exhibition Soil Culture : Casting Seeds.
Angela Blackwell, THG Curator said: “This is going to be a great event for all the family. Join us to take part in artist workshops, design a floral badge and make your own charcoal on a campfire. We hope families will enjoy the music, children’s face painting and fancy dress competition. I am looking forward to the wood-fired pizzas too!”
Emma Molony, THG Marketing & Fundraising Officer commented “Our pocket park is one of only 87 created nationally by the government for the community of Honiton to enjoy. It has been redesigned by leading garden designer Anna Wardrop, who has been working feverishly with local schools and volunteers to plant the garden with flowers, fruit trees and vegetable beds for the launch event.”
The party will take place on Friday 13 May from 5 to 9pm. The pocket park will be officially opened at 5.30 pm by Councillor Stuart Hughes, Chairman of the council.
