Telling Our Stories

23 November 2024 to 21 December 2024
An exhibition upstairs at THG exploring Honiton’s multicultural heritage and the stories of a diverse community.

Telling Our Stories, Finding Our Roots is a community heritage and oral history project.Their aim is to find, share and celebrate the hidden histories of Devon’s diverse and multicultural communities, past and present.

The exhibition brings together Honiton's multicultural history stories, which the project's dedicated volunteer researchers have been working on over the past year.

The aim is to remind us of our common connection as human beings - a connection that transcends religion, race and gender. It highlights just how diverse our community is and how welcoming Devon has been to those from different lands. Storytelling has been embraced to bring these diverse stories to life. The stories have a unique ability to bring self-expression and healing, building confidence and self esteem, peacebuilding, showing empathy and imagining a better world.

Join the exhibition opening on Friday 22 November, 4-6 pm. Contact Jess if you'd like to come along: jesstosfor@gmail.com.
