The Wild Escape

We're taking part in a major new Art Fund project The Wild Escape.

To celebrate Earth Day on 22 April, we'll be leading a community artwork procession from Allhallows Museum through Honiton to arrive at the gallery for Earth Day celebrations. Enjoy fantastic art activities with sculptor Alistair Lambert and craft activities with East Devon's countryside ranger, plus music, food and bar.

The artwork for the processions will be created by Honiton Primary School pupils in six days of workshops with Alistair Lambert at the school, Honiton Museum and in the beautiful nature of the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

The Wild Escape - Taking place from January to July 2023, The Wild Escape invites primary school children (ages 7-11) to find a favourite animal in their local museum and create an artwork imagining its ‘escape’ back to its natural habitat. The pictures and stories children create will be brought together in a collective work of art that imagines a better future for the wildlife on our doorstep, launched online and in museums on Earth Day 2023.

The Wild Escape is made possible by lead support from Arts Council England’s National Lottery Project Grants, with additional support from Art Fund.
