THG shortlisted again for a Devon Tourism Award

East Devon District Council’s public art gallery -THG (Thelma Hulbert Gallery) has been shortlisted in the 2015 Devon Tourism Awards as one of the finalists in the Small Visitor Attraction Award category.

The gallery has been chosed among Devon’s leading tourism businesses for the finals of the Devon Tourism Awards, which will be presented at a prestigious ceremony on 26th November at the Holiday Inn, Plymouth, hosted by Judi Spiers and a special guest.

 “This year saw a record 174 entries into the Devon awards – over 34% up on last year. The  judges have visited 97 Devon businesses – more than ever before – and their reports are a joy to read,” said Awards Organizer, Robin Barker, Director of Services for Tourism.

Angela Blackwell –THG curator- added, “After winning a Gold award last year for Access and Inclusivity, we can’t believe we have been shortlisted in a new category and are thrilled to be finalists again in these prestigious awards.”

The Chairman of the Awards Panel, David Fursdon, said: "The Devon Tourism Awards have shown once again that this County has a wonderful group of hardworking and imaginative entrepreneurs whose tourism businesses are a credit to them; a source of pride to those of us who live here and act as a powerful magnet to those who visit.”

THG is an award-winning, public art gallery based in Honiton, which is run by East Devon District Council. The gallery is renowned for its innovative exhibition programme of contemporary art & craft, providing a vital cultural link with the local rural and wider communities, including a high quality art-based learning programme of workshops and events.
