THG's new exhibition aims to highlight the artistic talents of East Devon District Council’s tenants.

The East Devon Tenant Art Exhibition is upstairs at the Thelma Hulbert Gallery from until 26 August. The whole exhibition is being held jointly across two East Devon venues: Thelma Hulbert Gallery in Honiton and Manor Pavilion Theatre and Arts Centre in Sidmouth.

There were 110 submissions to the exhibition from East Devon tenants and the judges selected 40 to be exhibited.  Nigel Walton’s artwork “What we can be” won the ‘Best in Show’ prize of £100, and the first runner up was Angela Bea for her artwork “Sunflower Angel” who received a prize of £50.

Councillor O’Leary, East Devon District Council’s Champion for Culture commented, “We want to shine a light on the many artistic talents of East Devon tenants through this exhibition. The public can also vote for their favourite piece of work at both venues and those winners will receive £50 each, so don’t forget to place your vote!”

Angela Blackwell, THG Curator said, “We are delighted to hold this exhibition alongside our main Evolver exhibition. This brings a dedicated art audience to see the work of East Devon tenants. It’s a shame we couldn’t accommodate all the entries but the works we have selected show the amazing diversity of talent.”
