Over 500 visitors packed into the fun-packed after hours party at Thelma Hulbert Gallery, which included art activities as well as food, bar and a DJ and the gallery’s popular exhibition Frances Hatch : Red Earth Under My Nails.

Children enjoyed making their own spooky animations with animation expert Anna Aroussi and clay models on sticks with Penny Evans. Braver youngsters stroked lizards, snakes and tarantulas from Exeter Exotics! Delicious local food on offer included wood-fired pizzas and Caribbean food and hot chocolate for little trick-or-treaters.

Angela Blackwell, THG Curator said:

“There were some incredible Halloween costumes this year! If you have a great photo of the night, please post it on social media and tag Thelma Hulbert Gallery and you could win a meal for your family, generously donated by THE PIG at Combe.”

One visitor commented,

“We loved the animals at the Halloween Party. We had a great time. Great facepainting and pizza too!”

This family-friendly event was part of the national Museums at Night festival. The next event at THG for the Museums At night festival will take place in May next year.
