Our new exhibition Mikhail Karikis: Acoustics of Resistance opened with an inspiring Climate Conversations talk.

Guest speakers at the talk were Mikhail Karikis, Lara Goodband and Catherine Causley, East Devon District Council's Climate Change Officer.

The Climate Conversations series of talks aim to draw attention to the climate discussion by engaging with communities and raising awareness of climate issues through the medium of art.

Watch the talk.

Mikhail Karikis is a Greek/British artist based in Lisbon. His work in moving image, sound, performance and other media is exhibited in leading contemporary art biennials, museums including the TATE and Whitechapel Gallery, and film festivals internationally. Karikis' varied practice includes sound, moving image and performance developed site-specifically with communities outside the context of contemporary art, and more recently, with children, teenagers, young adults and people with disabilities.

Lara Goodband has over 25 years’ experience as an art curator in galleries, museums and unusual places and spaces. She is currently Contemporary Art Curator and Programmer at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery in Exeter, a position funded by Arts Council England.
