‘Who Am I’ Magic Carpet Exhibition

to

This exhibition, in the upstairs Project Space, features a new body of work produced by a local group of adults with learning disabilities, in creative workshops run by arts-for-health charity Magic Carpet.

Participants have created portraits in different media, employing drama, photography and drawing during group workshops. The project’s aim is to challenge preconceptions about individuals with learning difficulties and give an opportunity to this group who would ordinarily not have a platform to showcase their work.

The self-portraits tell each individual’s story – their personality, quirks and interests. They focus on what makes them unique and amazing. The exhibition is all-inclusive. With the help of photography combined with touchable multi-media work, written and spoken words, visitors will be able to experience the multi-sensory art.
