Join us to celebrate the national Wild Escape on Earth Day.

Help us make a splash and reanimate Honiton's hippo! Our new hippo sculpture will arrive in a procession from Honiton Primary to THG. Celebrate with us at THG with music, food and craft activities from 4-7pm.

Families are invited to upload their own wild animal to The Wild Escape's giant collective artwork: the Wild World. Pop by the gallery and draw your own creature and we will upload it for you!

About: The Wild Escape: pupils from Honiton Primary are taking part in a series of workshops led by  Alistair Lambert at THG, Allhallows Museum and outside in the Blackdown Hills AONB. The workshops take inspiration from THG's exhibition, Allhallows museum's collection and the natural landscape. The young people and the wider school community are creating collages and mini sculptures using natural and reclaimed materials exploring our relationship to the natural world. They will form a collective artwork for the Earth Day procession and celebrations.

The Wild Escape - inspired by Sir David Attenborough's 'Wild Isles' series, The Wild Escape invites primary school children (ages 7-11) to find a favourite animal in their local museum and create an artwork imagining its ‘escape’ back to its natural habitat. The pictures and stories children create will be brought together in a collective work of art that imagines a better future for the wildlife on our doorstep, launched online and in museums on Earth Day 2023.
