Thelma Hulbert Gallery is appealing to visitors to shop local this Christmas!

Their selling exhibition, ‘Present Makers 2018’ features locally-made, contemporary gifts and was opened by Councillor Ian Thomas, Leader of East Devon District Council.

The opening took place on what would have been the 105th birthday of the artist Thelma Hulbert.

Councillor Thomas said:

“This new exhibition focusses on the talent of local contemporary designers. All of the work is for sale. I’m looking forward to joining you in seeking out that unique gift for a special friend.

Happy 105th Birthday to Thelma!”

A leading event in the South West crafts calendar, ‘Present Makers 2018’ celebrates and supports contemporary crafts people and designer-makers, who make the South West such a vibrant place to live.

The exhibition showcases work in a diverse range of materials including textiles, prints, ceramics, lighting, furniture and jewellery, all perfect for Christmas.

South West-based solicitors, Beviss & Beckingsale, sponsored the exhibition. Zoe Gaitskell, partner at Beviss & Beckingsale, said:

“Beviss & Beckinsale very much enjoy supporting our local communities and this is a great exhibition with coordinating activities for all the family.”
