Global Women

10 July 2024 to 13 July 2024

Global Women explores themes relating to the emotions and identity of women going through the asylum-seeking process.

This exhibition is part of the Global Women's project, a one-year multi-agency project between the Plymouth Racial Equality Council, The Olive Project and the Devon and Cornwall Refugee Support.

The Global Women's project aims to address the wellbeing and safety of refugee women residing at the Hampton by Hilton Hotel, Exeter Airport.

The project ran a series of visual art workshops - between April and July 2024 - for the women residents, led by associated artist Nicky Ruddick. The workshops explored themes relating to the emotions and identity of the women going through the asylum seeking process. It is hoped these resulting artworks can be educational for our community.

This project has been supported by Devon County Council.
