Culture and Climate 2020 programme

1 February 2020 to 31 October 2020

This year, against the context of THG and East Devon District Council’s commitment to Devon’s Climate Change Emergency declaration, and the University of Exeter’s declaration of an environment and climate emergency, we are delivering a series of ambitious exhibitions, projects and public programme taking place in various locations across East Devon and at the University of Exeter.

Climate change is a cultural challenge where we need to readdress how we live, and therefore art and culture plays a pivotal role in helping us understand our complicated relationship with nature. Culture can also help us identify a new way to coexist with nature, imagining possibilities or scenarios which we once did not think possible.

Public engagement programme delivered in partnership with University of Exeter, generously supported by East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) generously supported by The ARTIST ROOMS touring programme, delivered by the National Galleries of Scotland and Tate, supported using public funding through Arts Council England, by Art Fund and by the National Lottery through Creative Scotland.
